The Net Research Center Internet Marketing Consulting and Market Research Company (Hungary and Eastern Europe) For immediate service click: Frequent Internet-users in Hungary between 18 and 60 on Attitudes Toward Online AdvertisingDetailed AbstractThe growth and expansion of the Hungarian online advertising market pose new questions at advertising agencies, advertisers – moreover at online market research companies, as well. The reason is that there is no reliable data about the number of visitors of a given web site, or about their attitude toward the advertisements on the Internet. Because of the increasing interest the Net Research Center conducted an online quantitative research regarding the attitude of frequent Internet-users in Hungary between 18 and 60 toward online advertising. The research was conducted between 06.11.2000 and 12.11.2000, 494 valid questionnaires were analysed. To represent the group of citizens using Internet at least once a week the results were corrected with the Focus Group Index of TGI Hungary Ltd. based on gender, age, education and place of residence. The demography of the sample was following: 62% male; 50% is between 18 and 29, 40% is between 30 and 50. 89% have at least high school degree, 38% out of this have college or university diploma. Most of them are white collar workers or students. The 82% of the respondents use the Internet everyday on average 2-3 hours, 76% of them use the Internet more than for one year. The outcome of the research was somewhat surprising since the proportion of negative opinion was less than predicted at several forums at the beginning of the Internet expansion in Hungary. The cause might be not only the growing number of Internet-users (resulting a descending rate of users who reject online promotion) but also the multiplying number of ads that increase the threshold of stimuli, which decreases the preceptor irritation.
