KWT Inc. is a twelve- year privately owned international commodities and consulting company.  Its business scope included aiding Newly Independent States with the transition from a government controlled economy to Privatization; export and imports of steel products into China, India, Italy, Germany, Korea, Newly Independent States, Singapore, United States, etc.; and trading in petroleum products.

Challenge:

Initially I was hired to work closely with the Georgian Government.  My duty was to assist the Georgian delegation with privatization and business & trade development in Georgia. The challenge was to build a market economy in Georgia. As I have progressed in the company, my responsibilities evolved.  I was to establish the metals division.  This entailed locating key markets to establish offices, form joint ventures and partnerships with key suppliers, customers, distributors and shipping agents.  As an executive Senior Manager of International Business Development I was responsible to establish the energy division, which required research and development, locating suppliers, buyers, contract negotiations and logistics arrangements.

Identified, evaluated and pursued trading opportunities in the emerging markets of Eastern Europe and the Far East leading to increase of sales by 40%

Accepted high-visibility public relations assignment working with the executive management team to launch the company's introduction into the European marketplace
