FAQ Hawaii, Inc. conducts telephone interviews in all 50 states plus Guam and Japan.  Intercept surveys are conducted among Hawaii residents and visitors to Hawaii from the U.S. and Japan.

 


TELEPHONE INTERVIEWING

We are telephone-interviewing professionals.  Our core business centers on collecting accurate, reliable survey data.  Quality data collection is the foundation of all successful research projects.  FAQ Hawaii, Inc.’s focus is in telephone data collection.  Our clients count on us to provide them with reliable, accurate information they can consistently depend on.  We have our own call center equipped with Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviewing stations and can easily conduct telephone studies from this facility.

Call Center Facility

FAQ Hawaii, Inc. has its own call center in downtown Honolulu, equipped with Computer-Assisted-Telephone-Interviewing (CATI) stations.  Our center operates both a day shift for business-to-business projects and residential calling and an evening shift that concentrates on consumer opinion studies.  We also call on weekend days and holidays.

Call Center Management

FAQ Hawaii has a staff of dedicated employees who are required to operate our call center efficiently.  They have demanding jobs and we are proud of how well the managers, supervisors, trainers and interviewers perform their tasks.  Our supervisor to interviewer ratio is 1:10.

Interviewing Staff

FAQ Hawaii, Inc. works diligently to recruit and train individuals for our interviewing staff.  We utilize demanding pre-employment screening criteria and focus on hiring applicants who demonstrate genuine potential to become successful interviewers.  Our callers receive a competitive, non-commissioned hourly wage.  Our callers are well-versed in the languages and nuances of a multi-cultural Hawaii.

Interviewer Training

All interviewers must complete a comprehensive training program.  The initial orientation session cover the basic requirements and skills necessary for professional data collection.  The session includes extensive practice calling and individual coaching.  Interviewers also receive daily pre-calling briefings to address issues specific to current projects.  Our interviewers understand that telephone research is a valid scientific activity.  They are trained and prepared to collect reliable, accurate data.

Monitoring

We monitor every interviewer several times during each shift.  We provide employees with immediate feedback concerning their interviewing techniques.  Our interviewers realize that any falsification of data is grounds for immediate dismissal.

Validation

The standard practice of FAQ Hawaii, Inc. is to validate 15% of the surveys for each project we conduct.

Coding Opened-End Data

We have an experienced coding team that reviews the project data and develops clear categories for organizing open-ended responses.  After fielding is completed, our coding experts carefully review the collected data and develop clear, meaningful categories for organizing the responses given to each open-ended question.  All responses are then coded into client-approved categories.

Tabulation

Our data processing staff can produce any type of table to meet the needs of specific research projects.  If you require banners, marginals, cross tabulations or any special request, let our staff know exactly what you need and we will make it work.  Our data tabulation specialists can provide clients with any dataset files required including dbf, SPSS, Excel, ASCII and many others.  We use SPSS tabulation software.

Programming

Our CATI specialists program all questionnaires into our computer system precisely to client specifications.  They provide simulation disks of the questionnaires for clients to review and approve prior to starting the fieldwork.  Our programmers are conversant with Sawtooth Ci3 (Windows) CATI software.

INTERCEPT SURVEYS

FAQ Hawaii, Inc. conducts intercept surveys among Hawaii residents as well as with visitors from the mainland U.S. and Japan.  Interviewers conducting surveys among Japanese visitors are bi-lingual, with Japanese being their native language.

Translation of Questionnaire

FAQ Hawaii, Inc. works with a translation company in Japan to have the questionnaire translated from English to Japanese.  Once the translation is completed, the questionnaire is reversed-translated back to English to ensure that the survey has been accurately translated.

FOCUS GROUP RECRUITING

FAQ Hawaii, Inc.’s focus group services include recruiting (either from a client’s list or through random-digit-dialing), qualifying, and scheduling focus group participants.  We also reserve and set up hotel meeting facilities for the focus groups and provide hostesses for the groups.  We can record, videotape and transcribe group discussions, analyze the collected data and prepare research summaries for clients.

EXECUTIVE-LEVEL INTERVIEWS

FAQ Hawaii, Inc. conducts executive-level interviews for clients among business executives in Hawaii.  Interviewers conducting surveys are highly professional and experienced.  FAQ Hawaii, Inc. also does appointment-setting for executive-level interviews.

MAIL SURVEYS

FAQ Hawaii, Inc. conducts mail surveys with customers of clients doing business in Hawaii.  Clients provide a database of their customers and their mailing addresses that they want surveyed and FAQ Hawaii, Inc. will work with a printing/mailing company to print and mail the surveys.  The questionnaires are usually sent with a letter of introduction on the client’s letterhead and a postage-paid business reply envelope is provided for the customers to mail back the survey.  To increase response rate, FAQ Hawaii, Inc. will send out at least two additional mailings to those who have not completed the surveys within a specific time frame.

MYSTERY SHOPS

FAQ Hawaii, Inc. conducts mystery shops for all types of businesses in Hawaii.  FAQ Hawaii, Inc. maintains a staff of mystery shoppers who are able to do various types of secret shops in person for retail shops, financial institutions, fast food restaurants, automobile dealerships, timeshare properties, and supermarkets.  FAQ Hawaii, Inc. also conducts mystery shops over the telephone to evaluate customer service.
